well, been a while since this page being updated.. let's see what went on since the last update... hmm..
- played the CPCL & lost - what would u expect from a bunch of strangers playing together... :-/
- quit the NPL team, most can't seem to give full committment & i can't afford to 'pay-to-lose' anymore...
- played ISSC, guesting for team Armada.. not bad, got into top 8, almost won the semi but...
- gonna play MPOC this weekend, also as a guest for another D2 team.

so teamless me now just play on weekend & just wait & see if service is needed for any tourney.. ;-)

CPCL leg 1 concluded

The 1st leg of the CPCL went well last weekend despite slight hickups (as if other tourneys never had any..!), but nothing that can't be solved... ;-) The event also mark the debut of SLY Profit mask, & the only one used during the game was mine... yeap, the first to own one in the country, apart from Andrew of Werdna Hol Sportz that is, but then dealers doesn't count la...

Another interesting event happened that day - capt of team Dark Angels, Joseph, proposed to his girlfriend...! & he did this in the field right after the last game of the day, in front of everyone. It was actually a promise made to his teammates if they get any medal in CPCL, & the 4th place comes with a medal...! An o-ring was used instead of real ring since it was an unexpected win, esp when they initially planned to pull out from the tourney due to some problems... not bad for a team that got 8th place in the prelim, eh...? All of these are covered by the official broadcaster, Cyberjaya TV - watch out for the broadcast in a week or two...

after travelling almost half the globe, the Indy is finally here... address on the package clearly said 'COE', but then i have to go to HR to pick it up... why can't they just send it direct to me, as per address...? oh well, it's ok lah.. as long as it's here...

what's in a name...?

well, nothing except it's a reference to something, be it a person, a group or things. but then there are times when a name can get u somewhere, like if ur dad is a well-known figure (vip/royalties??) or u r a very close friend of a big bro taikor... but the latter can bring u trouble too... never been to that situation but i'd say 'almost'... ;-)

few guys in the team did voice out abt changing the team's name, mainly to be fair with all members since we originally agreed to use a 'neutral' name instead of using our old team's monicker... besides, we wanted to get a fresh name with out fresh start of the season. anyway, had to stick to one of the old name since the name supposedly has a potential sponsorship coming.... yeah, right.... if name is so important then how come a D3 or even those unknown D4 teams can get sponsorship without even showing what they can do...? clearly it's not who, or which team u r from, but who u know (& knows u in return) or as they said, how big ur cables are...

see lah if the name stay come WCA... IF the team is playing lah, which is another topic to talk abt, maybe in next scribblings... if i'm rajin enuff to do it lah... :-P

MY-NPL Melaka '09

1st ~ 2nd aug, was in melaka for the 4th leg of MY-NPL... field was nice & the atmosphere also nice.. had fun time there... game was not bad, in fact the best achievement by the team so far, tho we only got 4th place...

started on the 1st day with 8 players in total, but then carol & ila had to go back to kl due to some important bisness. we were left with 6 players to play the rest of the 7-man tourney... finishing 8th in the prelims, just enuff to get into the quarter, doesn't really help since we'd be facing the 1st-ranked team in that round. anyway, after a nite of head-cracking session in re-planning the game strategies & all, 2nd day was a fruitful one - we, the underdogs, beat the top ranked killer beez 2-0 in the quarter-final...! not bad for a team positioned at the lowest going in with only 6 players... ;-) but then lost to nemesis in the semi & ronin during the 3rd placing battle :-<

Rainforest World Music Festival 2009

went to see the RWMF on 10th ~ 12th july in kuching. thanks to the SPA gang for the accomodation arrangement. coincidently they got a booth in the SPRM's anti-rasuah karnival, so lepak there only la... so much for a non-paintball vacation, huh..? :-P

the RWMF crowd was not as big as previous years, the H1N1 is the main cause, apart from the higher ticket price - RM100 per day.

MPOC 2nd leg

hmm.. it happened again, or they just never learn from past experience..? D3 finals played in the dark - bad scheduling? bad organising skill..? no wonder some teams don't wanna play the mpoc

Labuan Trip

yeap.. just came back from Labuan earlier this week, & did i get to play paintball..? well, was hit by minor flu on the 2nd day, just a running nose & sore throat, but that didn't stop the paintballing... & hell yeah..! 6 straight days of paintball right from the day we arrived. it's a record since the most before this as like 3 days only.. 

lotsa memories there, new experiences, new faces & slightly different environment. ppl were quite friendly, well.. we ARE the so-called 'pro' from semenanjung, or at least the one with more experience... ;-) handling clinics, doing demos & also views on how the event should be.. consultant..? yeah, maybe something like that lah...

Labuan Open 09 - one of the best event so far. there are things that never been done before in Malaysia's paintball tourneys - the biggest prize so far, the walkways around the ground, carton of mineral water for each team, open shower & of course, the umbrella gals.. just wish there were more teams joined in, a date-clash (yeah, same date as NPL) is never good for any event... another event is planned in May, in conjunction with Pesta Air Labuan, hope it doesn't clash with ISSC09... :-/

will be in labuan again..? maybe.. we'll see come this May... ;-)

hmm.. nearly a month since the last entry. am i truly a blogger or just someone that gets into the 'fad'..? ntah la.. guess i'm just using this to channel out what i feel & all..

feel like writing something but now rasa tak pulak dah.. thot gonna write abt the big issue in the other blog, & also how i got part of my indy. yeap, it's here tho only the body. still waiting for other parts b4 can really test it out. hopefully b4 labuan.. aahh~~ yes, labuan.. going to labuan next mnth for 2 weeks, working for a paintball event there - 2 solid weeks of paintball, not sure abt playing tho.. but what the heck, the money is good.. ;)

hmm.. i did write something, didn't i..? well, guess just a snips abt something that i should be writing. well, till next time, yg tu dulu lah...

MAPAAC BBQ

ok.. ushering the new year in less crowded place.. where else but MAPAAC's BBQ in astaka since other place would be jam-packed with ppl.. beside, they got food there & of course paintballer friends la.. tho i'm considered as the only MPOC player there but what the heck... me not into those political shit, i just wanna play paintball wherever i can....!

ok, not much but just a few pix taken during the BBQ, more on the karaoke session - one of the fun time had during the party. other than that it was just the normal bantering from from a few, as said, i was the only not playing NPL there but it doesn't bother me a bit... :-P

New Look...?

yesterday was Ma'al Hijrah.. & what did i do..? stepped into a barber shop after years of not visiting it... yeap, haven't had a haircut for like few years now... so what's new look..? being the lazy old me, had it cut as short as i possibly can, told the barber to use #2, which less than 3mm...

me almost botak now.. maybe i'd put up pix later... ;-)

year end blues

yeap.. it's that time again - the year end. as per previous years, no work from christmas till new year, which is one whole week of doing nothing, usually... well, actually there were plans but most of it didn't go as planned.

anyway, hopefully this year would be better, got few plans set to go, tho 1 already down the drain.. guess i'm being too nice & not as pushy as others - responded to others' needs & all, but when it comes to own needs, they are none around, most would be to bz enjoying their problem-free life.. but they'd come back for more ears&shoulders eventually. guess the 'replacement pleaser' tag kinda suit me well for now... sigh.... :-/

things to do (hopefully get to be done)

- renew my expired amatuer radio license

- get the car's minor glitches look by a mechanic (more money flying away there)

- kemas rumah incl. shop for a new bedsheet (LOL...!!)

- settle things with banks, pnb, imigration & some other authority bodies

- get son his driving license (more money fly away..!!)

- cut my hair.... (still thinking..)

as for now, try to move my lazy ass to go & look for some food....

yeap.. got the replacement solenoid for my ceptor, after a long wait.... phew..! felt like running back home right there & then to fix it & have a go... ;-)

ok, got right at it once arrived home after work, marker's fixed alright, dry-fired it & seems ok, no leak.. just can't wait till the weekend to have a real go at it. marker might need some re-tuning tho as i've been running it with a bad noid for quite some time, which of course needs lotsa tweaking to make it work, did everything possible up until the very end of its life.. RIP old friend.. then, borrowed friend's noid taken from his unused marker as replacement, but not that great (maybe coz it's not mine - the 'feel' is just not there.. )

nice isn't it..? comes complete with everything - just need to fix it to the ram & connect the wires... ;-)
